Project Scope: Manufacturing building located in the alpine region with maximum annual temperature ranges reaching up to -30C and 38C. The building exterior wall is glazed curtain wall, insulated glazing. The inner walls are cement with thermo insulated surface. The roof is concrete with rigid insulation. The building is 24/7 operated with central HVAC for warm and cold regulation.
- External Walls - curtain walls – exterior glazing
- Internal Walls – cement with thermo insulated surface
- Roof - rigid thermal insulation
- any shading or sun control features – complex with shading surfaces

- The most impactful factors in within the area of passive optimisation options (i.e. excl HVAC and operation schedule) are selected below in the EUI 63.7and can been seen in the Model history (Note -operating schedule was readjusted back to worse case of 24/7)
Considering both passive and non-passive elements within a full model optimisation yields 30% optimisation vs the passive optimisation.
Due to the rigidity of the production facility, the HVAC and operational models are quite fixed therefore EUI of 64 (+/-10%) depending on level of efficiency of envelope materials is deemed feasible.

- Use one of the Daylight Analysis methods demonstrated to assess the daylighting levels available with your proposed building envelope design:
- Choose one of these methods:
- Option 1: Use the Revit Lighting Analysis extension to produce an Illuminance Map of one of the levels of your proposed design.
- Be sure to watch the videos for tips about what you’ll needed to include in your building model for the lighting analysis to produce valid results. For example, you’ll need to place Rooms and Floors.
- Paste an image of the resulting Illuminance Map.
- Option 2: Use the Revit Cloud Render tool to produce Illuminance Renderings of three key areas in your building model.
- Place cameras in your model to create 3D camera views to be rendered.
- Use the View > Cloud Render tool to generate Illuminance Renderings for these camera views.
- Paste images of the Illuminance Renderings into your Design Journal posting.
