Your Recommendation for the “Best” Design Option
The philosophy behind my designs was to find a balance between different types of shapes to create a layout that reflects the spirit of the client. My three proposed designs all performed fairly similarly in both the daylight potential and wind analyses, but proposal 3 was ahead by just a hair in daylight potential, so that is the one I chose. The layout of the buildings is supposed to evoke a smiling face, something I imagine could be a logo for Twitbook or would reflect their values and ideals as a company. It is also partially inspired by the layout of ancient Greek temples, with the cylindrical “eye” buildings reflecting pillars and the two larger “mouth” buildings reflecting steps or altars, serving to lead the eye up towards the main trapezoidal building when someone is walking onto the company campus from the side with the two cylindrical buildings. The layout also leaves ample space for outdoor features for socialization, recreation, and work — so that employees can make the most of the ample daylight hours that the campus receives.
