  • When it comes to sustainability
    • What do they care most about?
      • The large amount of plastic waste that exists and its effect on the oceans
      • Preserving non-renewable resources
      • The barrier that exist for the less wealthy when it comes to living a more sustainable life
    • What are they doing now?
      • Purchasing products that originate from biodegradable sources
      • Using reusable bags instead of plastic ones
      • Parents own hybrid cars
      • Solar Power at their house
    • What would they like to be able to do?
      • Limit their electronic waste and usage
      • Limit consumption of meat products and unsustainable food sources
      • Limit use of non-renewable electricity
  • Any reservations / concerns about sustainability?
    • They understand that there is a large economic barrier that prevents many people from being more sustainable
    • They also understand that culturally there is so much plastic in use that it is hard to escape
  • They feel a sense that they should be doing more (Where does it come from?)
    • They have felt the impacts of climate change especially with the forest fires that blanket LA in a cloud of smoke
    • They feel that we owe it to ourselves and other people to ensure that we can continue to live on this earth

    • They feel as though the ideas of mass-production and mass-consumption cannot be reconciled with the ideas of suitability and a societal attitude change needs to occur

      • Along with with wide spread support of sustainable practices and awareness from those with influence and power.
  • Definition: The preservation of non-renewable resources through a reduction of consumption and implementation of recycling and renewable systems.
