For my proposed additions, my goal was to add/modify elements to create more unity within our collaborative design. In order to integrate the new addition of of the enclose the roof access stairwell, I modified the building material to reflect materials already used within our design. By doing this, we reduce the amount of visual discontinuity between the main building and the stairwell extension. Additionally, I modified the parapet to follow a more curved shape in order to create a more organic environment to the roof top garden. Lastly, a curtain wall system was added on the north side of the structure to allow for more natural lighting on the ground floor.
