For 3 Units
My model now includes the exterior doors, windows, a basic roofing scheme, shading components, floors, interior walls, and all labeled spaces. I used the schematic types listed above for the energy analysis at this stage, and ensured that every model component is the right size to accommodate the types listed.
After modeling the energy performance, the building was initially well above my goal ranges of ASHRAE 90.1 and Architecture 2030. However, after adjusting each factor to be my BIM value or better, my model is already below ASHRAE 90.1, which is my minimum benchmark!
As you can see, I still have some work to do to get below Architecture 2030, my ultimate goal. In playing around with the analysis, I found I can reach Architecture 2030 with PV solar arrays on 60% of my roof, which is one of the larger factors in reaching my goal. The other key factors are Plug Load Efficiency, Operating Schedule, Lighting Efficiency, and Infiltration, which are each already quite good as they stand in my current model.
The EUI listed here will have a lot to improve upon once I adjust my model for HVAC, roofing, and solar PV systems.
