Due to the limited amount of square footage of the research station, my design includes shaded outdoor porches that allow research guests to feel like the structure is much more spacious than it is. The interior utilizes every inch available in order for researchers to conduct their best work in a comfortable environment. The south facing wall is covered with large windows in order to provide natural light and ventilation during the day and the storage room is tucked nicely behind a sliding door in the back of the structure. This allows researchers easy access to their supplies and equipment without crowding their work space. Lastly, the high ceilings provide an open and spacious feel to the structure.
