Stage 1 Part 1:
The rotation of the building can be modified. I modified the twisting angle to get different records for the gross volume, gross surface, and gross floor area with dynamo.
Stage 2 Part 2:
Inspiration: Shanghai Tower
Using three eclipse arcs to create a triangle with curved sides. The height of the eclipse can be modified. The rotation angle of the building can also be modified. I modified the twisting angle to get different records for the gross volume, gross surface, and gross floor area with dynamo.
Point to ponder:
Advantages of storing to Excel:
- Record the current result. After the change of the input parameters, the result will change all the time.
- Later possible to use excel data analysis tools to analysis the data with different parameters, including filter, sorting, making graphs, fitting lines, etc.
- Store program running result outside of the programming software itself.
Stage 2:
The profiles are polygons with arced sides. There are three profiles: base, middle and top to determine the rotation of the whole building. The size of the profiles, number of sides of the polygon, radius of the arced sides, height, rotation angles, story heights can be changed by input parameters.
The flexibility lies in the variation of the rotation angles of the middle profile and the top profile. They can change together, and the computation of the records will be done automatically.
Point to ponder:
The rotation angle of the middle layer has the biggest effect.
