What types of building information are best portrayed in 3D views?

  • facade reality, detailed image of interior, relationship with surrounding environment
  • components interference check
  • energy calculation/heating or cooling evaluation in the specific location
  • Which stakeholders require 2D views, and why?
    • the detailed planning view is essential for subcontractor/workers to install each components, since the exact measurement is required to install.

Give examples of how the building information for a specific location in the project needs to be filtered for different audiences and purposes?

  • Using Visuality Graphic override function, we can easily 1)highlight the specific components, 2) do halftone to less express the image and 3)select the visuality of each model category.
  • For interiour wall subcontractors, there is no need to know the area of each room and furniture information. Therefore, in we dont show the visuality of these model categories. And we highlighten the measurement of each interior face (or center of the wall) to clarify what the exact wall location is.

Should your design ideas always be conveyed through photorealistic renders?

  • How does the level of detail in the rendering and its presentation affect the perception of stakeholders reviewing your design?
    • The higher the level of detail is getting, the more each stakeholder understand the designer’s intension.

Name some applications where viewing the building and model information in virtual reality or augmented reality would be most beneficial?

  • Are there advantages to using a C.A.V.E as a virtual environment versus VR headsets?

How can schedule views be used to assist with procurement and model-based estimating?
