- After deep thinking and discussion with Dr. Glenn I have come up with a conclusion to work the food-exchange app ‘CampusShare’. The app ensures that individuals can list surplus food items they have on the app, or they can request items that are in surplus with others within the same neighborhood. There are high verification systems that ensure high food safety and quality are met daily. There is an option to donate surplus food to charities through the app platform.
- The app will have a role in reducing food waste by connecting dining halls, individuals or businesses with surplus food to those who need it or can use it. The app ensures that edible food doesn’t get wasted and end up in landfills which will contribute to the environmental sustainability by reducing methane emissions from decomposing food waste.
