I created a surface that is ribbed. I mapped color values from an image onto this surface and then I embossed and debossed the surface. Here are the images:

Part 2: I was able to adapt the color and the depth of the based on the brightness of the sun. Here are the images of that

For the first part, I created a surface and then I created panels. Next, I imported the file and translated and transposed the image to pixels.
Then I flipped some parts and finally changed the depth of the panels based on brightness of the image pixels. I also embossed and debossed it based on this brightness.
To create the structure, I created different points on a line for the leaf base, mid leaf and end leaf. I created a sin wave for the base leaf and created rib points to create the surface.
I then created the surface. Then to adapt to the sun, I panelized the surface and changed the size of the panels and colors of the tiles based on the sun.
