Description
When making this field station, my primary concern was creating a space where the ceilings were a bit higher and the researchers would be able to not feel as enclosed, as is the case in many laboratory buildings. I added a few windows around to allow for an ample amount of natural light and ventilation, when necessary. As someone who has done field research in a few different locations, having a field station with ample space, natural light, and proper ventilation can be especially important to make a space that feels like a respite the field. I also thought the more airy, atrium-like feeling would make it a good site to host educational acitivities, like in the classroom space I put in the space. It also hosts an open office space, a lab space, a storage room, and the aforementioned classroom space.
