Sliding House

image

I love how versatile this structure is. The wood envelope can slide back and forth with the hidden track. It can move over the annex, house, and glass house to create various combinations of insulated enclosures and open-air living. The effect of the dynamic change alters sunlight and privacy to the owner based on different time of the day and different weather.

Vault House

I really like the stereotomic of interior structure created multiple layers within the main volume. Since the house is located at the waterfront, it is interesting to see how the oblique views throughout the house provide a glimpse of natural light and the ocean view from a variety of angles. Also, the rooms are designed in parallel orientation that enables spatial fluidity and air circulation across the house and courtyard.

Fuji Kindergarten

Every part of the kindergarten is fully utilized, even the rooftop. Children are allow to run on the roof and across the courtyard in a safe and enclosed manner. There are stairs and slides to maneuver between floors. In contrast to the enclosed space, the classrooms doors can be slide open to increase air flows and promote spatial fluidity. I also love how nature is incorporated to the building and child-development
