Modeling a Parametric Structure
Modeling approach:
First, I create several lines in Dynamo and move them to connect smoothly as canopy for the shelter, with each line controlling the width variation around it. Next, I create three lines on the XY plane as the ground starting points for three rows of columns. Then, I create three corresponding lines on the panel surface, each aligning to form a plane, and then adjust these planes into rows of columns.
Parameters can be adjusted:
For column:
- location of each column line
- height of the column
- number of columns in each row
For canopy:
- height of the canopy
- length of the canopy
- width of the canopy
- number of panels in the X direction
- number of panels in the Y direction
