Why is it important to accurately model the land features of your project site with a toposurface?
- The bottom floor/foundation is the most affected by the terrain features. Accurately understanding and modeling the land features is crucial to designing the building properly. Making sure that the walls and floors will actually fit properly in the space is key to avoiding construction setbacks later down the line.

- The building should adapt to the terrain. It makes it easier to design and the building won’t blend well with the rest of the environment.
Describe a case when it would be worthwhile to create a new custom component in Revit… How do you decide when customize versus using readily available components?
If the component is going to affect the wall structure/window design, then taking the time to design components is important. Usually, components are standard and they are simply there are space holders since they don’t necessarily alter the design.
