Description

It was very difficult to make the structural model of my building although the structure itself does not look too complex. Each level contains two floors that are identical structurally but are oriented uniquely, meaning I could not find an individual grid that worked for both floors within each level. The same went for the same floor plan for different levels because those are uniquely rotated as well. To combat these issues I created a different grid set for each level using 2D grids and worked with each building individually. Overall, this exercise did teach me a lot about the structure models and the different tools and pieces that are put into their creation.

Using ACC Model Coordination

  1. Upload your architectural and structural models to your folder on ACC Documents, then copy them into the subfolder named Coordination Space.

  6. Create a new View that merges a 3D view from both your architectural and structural models.
  7. Open the new view, and use the ACC Model Coordination environment to navigate to an interesting camera viewpoint. Then, create an Issue to share this viewpoint.
    1. Click the Issues button in the left navigation bar to display the saved issues.
    2. Click the Create Issue button to create a new one.
    3. Click a location in the model viewer to place a push pin.
    4. Enter info for this issue:
      • Change the Type to Design
      • Enter a Title
      • Assign the issue to our CA
    5. Click the Create button to save your issue and send it to the assignee.
  8. Repeat these steps to create three issues sharing interesting viewpoints within your merged models.
