Evaluation & visualization of recommended design options for structures to optimize for view and sun hours that takes into account the structures’ built context.

  • Building base placement (x & y axis)
  • Building base rotation
  • Building top rotation
  • Building top scale
  • Site context (configurable geometry)
  • Site location (to map correct sun path)

Underlying logic of the model you’ll implement

This model follows and builds on the logic of my generative design study from Module 7, incorporating a few more inputs to give the designer more comprehensive controls over the siting of the building.

Outputs (both have adjustable weights if the architect wants to prioritize one measure over the other)

  • Aggregate sun + view optimization value, composed of weighted total sun hours and view value
