Key Findings from the Interview

• My friend is very mindful of recycling and always makes sure to only recycle that which will truly be reused and not simply shuffled to a landfill. She always pays attention to what is actually feasible to reuse.
• Her motivations for doing this come out of concern for the environment and natural habitats, but it also comes from a pressure from her school and family to be responsible with her actions. In our area there is a strong pressure to be environmentally conscious.
• My friend wants to drive less in order to create less air pollution, but this is difficult because of her busy work, school, and sports schedule.
• She is concerned about people focusing on the less productive aspects of sustainability (like plastic straws or recycling everything without thinking about it) and wants to refocus on the big picture, like having companies make less plastic in the first place.
