Key Findings from the Interview

What does Sustainability mean to you?

She says it means developing things in a way that they have longer life at less cost (financially, environmentally etc)

Is there anything you are doing right now to live a more sustainable lifestyle?

She is trying to be more conscious of recycling, drinking more tap water as opposed to buying more bottled water and throwing away the bottle, and overall raise her consciousness about things that can be disposed of in more sustainable manners.

Is there anything you think should be done to promote sustainability in your home? In larger society?

She wants to get everyone in her home more conscious about recycling. She also thinks that there should be easier access to ports for charging electric cars. She thinks it would be an interesting technology that could be developed if there was a coating that could be used to absorb heat on windows, in the vein of utilizing nature's energy in a better way.

Do you have any concerns about our ability to be a sustainable civilization moving forward?

She thinks that living in an efficient way needs to be a top priority across the world. To her, living in a world that is more sustainable will create equal opportunity for everyone. Governmental policy can and should incent us to live more sustainable lives, but people have to latch on and it has to be a communal effort. We need to stop presenting sustainability in an alarmist manner, more in a positive light.
