Description
The extension to the engineering building includes many updates to better accommodate the students academic and social needs while adding a sleek and daring new look to property. The overall shape of the building was inspired by a carpenters speed square with the cutout in the middle taking the shape of an arrow symbolizing forward thinking and next generation technology. The inside of the building contains a variety of new rooms, highlighted below:
- Social Den - A cozy area for students to relax, read, and socialize that is filled with couches and comfy chairs
- Quiet Study Room - Silent study room with independent desks, meant to emulate a library environment
- Group Study Room - Conversational study room with tables grouped together for larger study sessions
- Café - A place for students to refuel on caffeine and carbs while also hanging out in a more bustling environment.
- Printing/Production - Rooms dedicated to printing and copying and other paper needs as well as more advanced rooms for tools like laser cutters and 3D printers
- Greenhouse - A room with tons of plants and shrubs to provide a nice interior green space were students can walk around or sit and read
- Event - A large room for guest speakers or poster presentation events, can also double as a large classroom
- Gallery - An open room to display student work such as posters or artwork
- Open Roof - A massive open roof with plenty of outdoor seating and plants for students to study or socialize in the sun.
