Goal 1: Manage 100% of “Greened Acre” required stormwater

• Measure:  greened acres = site impervious pavement (area) x avg rainfall (in)
• Targets:
• Min: 30,000sf x 5.3 inches of precipitation per month = 3.65 Greened Acres
• Desired: 35,000sf x 5.3 inches of precipitation per month = 4.26 Greened Acres
• Strategies:
• Blue infrastructure strategies such as bioswales, rain gardens, and impervious pavement
• Green infrastructure strategies such as green roofs and bio retentive vegetation

Goal 2: Net Zero Energy

• Measure:  kWh/year of energy demand
• Targets:
• NZE (0 kWh/yr), where at minimum, energy demand = energy delivered
• 10% more energy delivered than energy demanded
• Strategies:
• Implementing solar panels on roof/site area
• Automated temperature setpoints/lighting in main exhibition spaces
• potential for energy generation in SW drainage collection

Goal 3: Decrease traffic/individual vehicle reliance

• Measure:  induced demand (cars in mile radius/day post construction - cars in mile radius/day preconstruction)
• Targets:
• Net zero induced demand
• reduce demand (# of cars/day in mile radius) by 10%
• Strategies:
• Pedestrian pathways/connections to local public transportation/existing routes
• Prominent bike storage/bike share options

Goal 4: Net Zero Site Energy (reach)

• Measure:   kWh/year of SITE energy demand
• Targets:
• NZSE (0 kWh/yr), where at minimum, site energy demand = energy delivered
• 10% more energy delivered than site energy demanded
• Strategies:
• Extreme daylighting (near 0 electricity for lighting during the day)
• Mini wind turbines (also partially accessible to public as education opportunity)
