My field research station design is slightly over 500 SF and provides space for studying, meeting, and storage. In terms of passive solar design, my research station is oriented in a North - South facing direction (as is optimal for its Stanford location). It also contains many south facing windows and solar panels. Furthermore, I would like to highlight the inclusion of 48 SF of C3 sunspace to help maintain the heat of the space.

Keeping in mind that this station will be used for research, I wanted to create a space where people would want to be and work inside of. As such, I provided windows at every work station with the hopes that the natural light will increase the productivity and happiness of the occupants.
