What are the principal advantages of using a single building information model of the existing conditions as the foundation for modeling proposed additions or renovations?
- Due to the fact that the proposed changes are adding on to the existing building, it is important to see how new construction fits into the existing landscape. It is also useful to be able to use similar walls and structures so that the buildings are somewhat structurally and aesthetically coordinating.
What are the principal advantages of using a single building information model of the existing conditions as the foundation for modeling several proposed design alternatives for a portion of the building?
- The buildings can show the different choices at the same time and make it easy to compare all alternatives at once to see quickly and easily what changes were made.
