My model has a few parameters: the width of the overall structure, the length of the structure, the amplitude of the panel, the number of wavelengths of the panel, the number of beams, and the number of columns. For part 2, I noticed that depending on how I used these parameters, pushing them to their limits could result in very interesting geometry, very boring geometry, or breaking the design. For these reasons, it is a good idea to put reasonable limits on the parameters when using sliders.

I chose to design this by starting with the canopy, as it is the most interesting part of my design, then adding in structural supports. The columns are simple cylinders at parametrically controlled locations, and the beams are swept paths at different parametrically controlled locations.
