Space Budget

Project Bruin is broken up into three buildings:

Building 1 - Main Lobby/Office
Building 2 - Educational/Exhibition Centers
Building 3 - Auditorium

The space budget included in my Module 5 folder on ACC (excel document) was a preliminary budget to identify the program spaces and their corresponding area (square feet). This was used to guide my modeling. This is broken up by building/floor and the target area was derived from the original conceptual mass model. The gross area of the project from this exercise is about 36,500 square feet.

The building model for module 5 can be found here.

Ultimately, some slight changes were made from the space budget during the modeling process, and a more accurate space area allocation is now located on the Space Schedule within the model and sheet. Overall, the project is 36,423 square feet.

There are still some key design decisions that need to be made regarding the circulation corridors between the spaces. See below for screenshots from the model (both 3D views and floor plans).
