I decided to use the wood frame structural system, since it is a cheaper system, and the materials are more readily available as compared to steel. I have maintained the 25’ max span as per the given requirement. Beam size is as 8x12”, and column is 8x12”. I started with the exterior walls first. Since every wall in the periphery of the building is a retaining wall, except for the facade wall, I have omitted columns on them. Started drawing grid. I then looked at getting the atrium columns in place. The main aim was to flush the columns with walls in as many places as possible.
