Description
The proposed Field Research Station is designed to enhance functionality, sustainability, and collaboration. The interior layout features an open-plan room that integrates the lab bench space and workspace, allowing seamless transitions between wet and dry lab activities. Operable windows on the south-facing wall provide abundant natural light and ventilation, creating a comfortable and energy-efficient space. The structure is built with durable 2x6 wood frame walls and a 6-inch concrete slab floor for long-term resilience. The sloped roof, fitted with three solar panels, supports renewable energy generation, further reducing the building's environmental impact. A sloped overhang offers protection against the elements, while an ADA-compliant bathroom ensures accessibility for all users. This design prioritizes practicality, collaboration, and sustainability, making it an ideal setting for field researchers.
