My approach for this project consisted of creating a surface that would be easier to work with than the one I had created for Module 3. I used last week’s workshop to create a surface that would be simple so that I could have an easier workflow for the rest of the tasks. An important part of this project consisted of creating custom nodes, so this was helpful for cleaning up the overall node space. One thing I spend a good amount of time was troubleshooting the custom nodes because in a few occasions the inputs were not was I intended them to be, so understanding the custom node logic is an improvement I can make as I continue to understand Dynamo.

To summarize my workflow:

  1. Recreated the surface from Module 3
  2. Panelized the surface
  3. Displayed an image and played around with the brightness values vs. panel size
  4. Created custom nodes for surface, panel and vector values
  5. Created Sun Directness Values
  6. Used the SD values to create various adjustments with color and panel size
