- The primary goals of creating a building model are creating an accurate and technical model that can be built. The primary stakeholders are the developers and construction crews, because they depend on the models being accurate and buildable.
Many door and window manufacturers provide Revit families for doors and windows that you can specify for your building design.
- For the manufacturers, it can help sell more real-world products because designers may choose to use their families in models. Assuming the dimensions are accurate, this can, in some cases, lock the designer into using that specific manufacturer’s product. This can benefit the designer, though, as it gives them accurate, real-world products that can be implemented into designs. This can smooth out the transition from paper to final realization of a model.
