Description
For this assignment, I chose Option 2 (the stay option). I have always wanted to 3D render my childhood home in Revit. My grandfather was actually the architect for our house back in the day but at that point, all of the drawings were done by hand so I used this assignment as the perfect opportunity to create my own 3D rendering of the house.
This house means a lot to me - so I wanted to spend a lot of time (and I did) rendering the details. Some of the important features include that the family room and living room are on a different level than the main floor, so I had to implement small staircases for this, like I have in my actual house. Additionally, There is a staircase that leads to the second floor. My 3D visual of my house makes it certainly look larger than it is, as I found it challenging to nail the scale down going only off of memory and photos. The home includes 4 bedrooms, 3 and 1/2 baths, a kitchen, dining room, and several living spaces. I even modeled the laundry room and closets. I also rendered the depressions and slight hills of my yard. The hardest part for me was the roof - the sloped roofs are difficult to master without exact calculations and measurements. Overall, this was one of my favorite homework assignments I have completed. Below are photos of my actual house at a similar angle as my screenshots.
