The concept is an archway with parameters to switch between concave and convex height and width profiles. Each profile is defined by dimensions at the middle and the open ends connected by a spline curve. Setting the middle and end values equal results in a flat profile. The symmetry and 2-point base of the structure are fixed.

The Dynamo model is comprised of 3 spline curves (2 base lines and 1 roof line). Subpoints are created and connected to make the arches for framing, and the arches are swept to make a surface for panel placement.

Input Variables

  • Length - distance between open ends
  • End/Middle height and width - defines the arching shape of the structure (longitudinally and transversely).
  • Roof overhang at ends (can be negative) - to extend/retract coverage over the end base
  • Number of 3pt tubes frames and tube section radius
  • Number of panels per segment and panel thickness (“height”)
