Description

This proposed addition to the existing engineering building aims to provide more space for future students of Dancing Tree University to work, collaborate, and socialize. In order to create a more non-classical design, the new extension was modeled with a circular floor plan. However, in order to maintain unity with the as-built structure, many visual elements from the existing design are carried over into the proposed design (material, structural elements, etc.) The facility provides three stories of mixed-use spaces, both indoor and outdoor. Each floor, provides slightly different uses.

The first level consists of a wide-range of private rooms that meet the various needs of the students, a maker space, space for socializing, and circular hallways that provide ample space for student galleries and rotating exhibits.

The second level provides a more open space for socializing and collaboration, a larger conference room, a second maker space, and a café with outdoor access.

The final level offers open indoor and outdoor space, as well as a unique multipurpose room that can be design both as an auditorium or larger conference room for special events for the students to make use of.
