Part 1

The tested model

Twisting Simple Triangle Mass was picked up from the shared library. The screenshot in the bottom indicates parameters in the original model. In part 1, height was considered as a parameter to create alternatives.

Gross Floor Area, Gross Surface Area, Gross Volume, and Area in Each Floor were calculated in the analysis. In the case of height from 600 to 750, Gross Floor Area met the criterion, 1,200,000 SF. From the area in each floor and unit cost, the total cost in each case was calculated. The highest cost was 969 million USD and the lowest 802 million USD.

In part 2, an original mass model was created from scratch. The screenshot in the bottom indicates parameters in the original model. In part 2, rotation angle in middle and top were considered as parameters to create alternatives.

As shown in screenshots below, the analysis was performed. Unlike part 1, the step to create a list including two parameters was added in the analysis flow.

As in part 1, four outputs were calculated in the analysis. In all cases, Gross Floor Area met the criterion, 1,200,000 SF. The total cost in each case also was calculated in the same way as part 1. By change the rotation angles, Gross Floor Area was increased and decreased. The lowest cost, 857 million USD, was recorded in the case the rotation angle in middle was 30 degrees and in the top 10 degrees, while the highest was 897 million USD in the case of 30 degrees in the middle and no rotation (0 degree) in the top.
