Key Findings from the Interview
Infrequently online shops for clothes, regularly from amazon since it is really difficult to find daily basics on campus (especially without a car/close-by and well-priced stores
For clothes, she shops in “spurts” every few months from 3-5 brands she trusts (i.e., Ambercrombie, Lululemon, Urban Outfitters). Mostly she buys in-person for the first purchase and then once she knows she generally likes their products/sizing (i.e., needs long pants since is tall), will shop online. The main exception is athletic wear, which she will try online first if she gets a reccomendation (i.e., TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest)
She WILL return, if she doesn’t like something, does not want to buy or keep it (waits for a week maximum to return). When I asked her what motivates her to be so thoughtful, she said she is naturally hesitant to purchase things, and does not want to partake in trends for the sake of trends. She wants to be proud and feel confident in what she is wearing day to day, which in turn makes her a very mindful shopper.
She does admit to going online just to browse, but most times, she resists the urge to buy unless she really wants the item/has thought about it.
