What are the principal advantages of creating a conceptual design model using masses before diving into the detailed design and building element modeling?
Designing buildings this way allows you to roughly create different building shapes and see how they interact with the space. How the sun hits it, if it fits in the site, if other buildings block the sunlight to an area of the building, etc. This allows you to save time in your initial decision making processes. It also allows you to experiment with unique shapes and designs to see what works
Can you think of any examples of a real building around the world that most likely was created by exploring the form using conceptual mass models?
