In relation to advantages, I believe the way of model sharing during the design process could make sure different teams of designer to identify the clashes before the construction stage.

It could be time consuming to coordinate the final product without any clashes.

What advantages does doing this coordination digitally have over previous methods?
Before using digital models, I think the designers prepare and coordinate their design by hand sketch and meeting others in person, when they make changes, a new set of drawings will be required.
Nowadays, designer can coordinate the design digitally with a laptop and make any changes to the design.

Coordination meeting with the potential Contractor during the design stage would be one of the strategies to avoid clashes prior to the commencement of construction.
