Example: Grouping Spaces into HVAC Zones

💡

 To use the Heating and Cooling Loads tool demonstrated in this workflow, you'll need to activate it in your Revit application.

Activating the Heating and Cooling Loads Tool

To activate the Heating and Cooling Loads tool, follow these steps:

1.  Open the Revit.ini text file on your computer at this location:

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2025\Revit.ini

💡

Note that the AppData folder is typically a hidden item.  So, you need to Show Hidden Items in Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder.

2.  Edit the Revit.ini file to insert this line of text after the [Misc] heading in the file:

EnableHeatingAndCoolingLoads=1

3.  Restart the Revit application.
