Description
This addition of student-oriented space to the existing engineering academic building offers students a place to call their own. With mirroring staircases indoors and out, patrons can easily flow directly to whichever space they choose. The size, as well as the activity and noise levels of each floor are designed to decrease as you travel further up. The first floor houses the cafe, maker space, and collaborative work space, offering socializing spaces in a casual meal-sharing setting, a creative setting, large group work setting. The second floor is more of an escape, with a terrace and counters that overlook the quad, as well as a circulating student project gallery space and a relaxed hangout space which includes couches, TVs, foosball, pool tables, and a piano. The third floor is closed off from the rest of the building and has plenty of group study rooms, computer clusters, and solo study cubicles.
