Description
My research station features a sloping roof oriented south in order to capture maximum light for solar panels and internal lighting, made possible through a large sliding glass door on the south side and corner windows. Continuous glass windows and sliding doors with few framing edges increases insulation to maximize energy efficiency. Upon walking in the front door, the station hosts a large open space meant for team collaboration with high sloping ceilings. This design features a secluded side room with double doors to welcome researchers to present their work, intended to host round table meetings. This separated nook creates added privacy and sweeping windows on all sides add extra light to facilitate discussion. Along the side of the open concept workspace, it includes a storage room and ADA accessible bathroom.
