Description
The Engineering Commons extension features a futuristic building utilizing curtain walls for the stairwell shaft as well as many of the common areas throughout the building. The first floor features a student cafe, maker space, and small group meeting spaces with additional circulation spaces for posters, etc. The second floor features a socializing area where students can lounge and interact, another maker space and open work spaces with a stunning view of the nearby surroundings. The third floor features a gallery for projects to be shared and two design options for an auditorium space or a large conference room. There are two roof alternatives, one mimicking the existing sloped roof and one with a slight slope but featuring a raised ceiling.
