Description
Twitbooks office building is illustrated above showcasing its structural components. Key features include columns with isolated footing at the base, girders, beams, and braces along the outside perimeter of the 3rd to 10th floors. Because of the intricate nature of the building, the structural design needed to incorporate x braces to minimize any structural deficiencies should a major earthquake occur. The two bottom floors have the highest amount of columns to serve as a solid foundation for the rest of the buildings. Types of structural components are as follows: W10X49 Columns, W12X26 Braces, W8X10 girders, and W12X26 beams.
