Description
The new addition connects to the exists building by adding new replacement classrooms and converting the existing side classrooms into small group meeting rooms and a hallway. Some of the key features of the addition include a large cafe, sofa hangout area, maker space, elevators, bathrooms, photocopying rooms, storeroom/utilities, student exhibit gallery, and plenty of meeting areas. Interior and exterior views of the addition plus annotated plans of the changes are shown in the sheets. With this assignment, I spent extra time organizing the sheets and presenting the new addition in a clear manor. Some demolition, which is detailed in the demolition sheets, was necessary to connect the walls and roof of the addition. There are design options shown in the sheets for the client, including two options for the maker space furniture arrangement and two options for the exterior building walls (curtain walls vs. traditional windows).
