Why is it important to accurately model the land features of your project site with a toposurface?

  • walls, floors, windows and openings can heavily be affected by the topography of the site, given it may block views or obstruct opening of doors, no be naturally flat enough for a floor or a wall.

When designing a project...

  • Building and terrain should ideally co-exist, it truly comes down to the balance of both worlds. Which has to adapt to the other truly depends on what the goals of the project and the challenges the terrain brings forth in its natural form.

Describe a case when it would be worthwhile to create a new custom component in Revit… How do you decide when customize versus using readily available components?

A cleint’s space and needs require an oddly shaped or extremely detailed component that is not readily available, or would be easier to create than edit.
