Description
The orientation of my research station is such that it is oriented east-west along the length and north-south along the smaller width. This helps in maximizing the solar gains during colder months on the solar panels on south side and minimize the heat loss due to east-west winds. The workspace and meeting area which are used most frequently have been kept on the southern side with large windows. This way they get more sunlight in winter and are protected from sun in summers and use more natural lighting. On the other hand storage room that is used occasionally is kept on the northern side, which along with the hallways and bathroom act as buffer for the cold air in winter and do not require as much natural lighting.
