Description
The small field research station I designed is approximately a rectangle. The research station is designed to be larger than 500 square feet, and I think 550 feet is also acceptable. ADA compliant bathrooms and storage rooms are located on the east side, distributed on both sides of the entrance. I have set up two large windows in the office and small meeting area on the south side of the room for natural heating and cooling. I have set up a complete glass curtain wall on the west side of the room for indoor lighting, reducing energy consumption. I set up the instrument experimental platform and sink on the north side of the room. In the bathroom room, only a small window was set up for privacy reasons. At the same time, the diameter of the turnover space in the bathroom exceeds 5 feet, all corridors are wider than 36 inches, and doors are wider than 32 inches. The span of the roof is greater than 16 inches, so I chose 2x10's wooden rafters and placed solar panels on the roof in all four directions. The benches and desks in the laboratory adopt an open floor plan layout, which facilitates communication and exchange among everyone.
