Image of My Model
Description
My structural system comprises shear walls and a column-beam megaframe. I didn’t want to obstruct occupant views with overly complex X-bracing on the exterior, for I want this building to maintain its position as a “breathable” building. Each level was laterally supported with a cross-hatched beam distribution across which aimed to distribute loads coming from all lateral directions. A combination of different joint types would help develop stiffness where necessary, and special plates would help improve seismic safety
Bays were generally 20ft long, but supporting systems near stairways were kept simple to allow a scenic walk for occupants moving across floors. Lastly, the steel and concrete used for this construction would ideally be sourced locally, but custom curtain walls would seek to optimize the occupant experience while mitigating energy costs.
Using ACC Model Coordination
