Why is it important to accurately model the land features of your project site with a toposurface?

It is important to accurately model the land features of your project site with a toposurface because ideally, your building design is in communication with the the project site, and different features of the building will interact with the project site in different ways depending on the geographic location of the land features.

When designing a project...

When designing a project, the building should adapt to the terrain because when actually constructing a building, it requires a lot of extra costs to change the terrain. It’s also just generally more sustainable to create as little change to the terrain as possible, when possible.

Describe a case when it would be worthwhile to create a new custom component in Revit… How do you decide when customize versus using readily available components?

One case when it would be worthwhile to create a new custom component in Revit is when a component that would really improve your building design in unavailable in the readily available components list. I decide when to customize versus using readily available components when there are absolutely no readily available components to use that would work for my building design.
