Description

I designed a vacation house for the hillside site. I made the lower level partially underground because I wanted there to be a clear distinction between the two floors. The lower level is more intimate and open plan, with the living room room, piano area, kitchen, and stairway all open to each other but with clear distinction. The upper is more closed off with all of the bedrooms and one bathroom being located there. The upper level patio/outdoor entertaining space is the largest area on the upper floor because I wanted it to take adavantage as as many of the views/cardinal directions as possible. The roof was inspired by the very modern inspiration image houses which both have flat roofs. Since this vacation home will experience snow loads, I gave a small slope to accomodate for potential snow piles. I also made the material for the roof 2x10 Rafter + Asphalt Shingle because the 2x10 or 2x12 wooden rafters were not available in the Revit project file.
