Hello! My name is Kaitlin, and I am a second year master’s student studying Mechanical Engineering (depth in Robotics and Kinematics). I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada - Reno, where I obtained a strong background in mechanics of materials, design and manufacturing, and CAD.

I currently work at the NASA Ames Research Center as an engineering intern in the Thermal Protection Materials branch, which is under the Earth Entry Systems Division. Our branch works on the design, development, and fabrication of heatshield materials. In this role, I work closely with engineers and senior scientists on CAD work and computational analysis.

However, as much as I enjoy the work I do currently, my main goal is to work as a roller coaster engineer at varying amusement parks. When I am close to graduation, I will be applying to Disney engineering jobs and many of the openings are under project management. Several job applications prefer the candidates to understand BIM and know Revit, which is why I have chosen to take this class. I am really looking forward to developing these skills and filling in my current knowledge gaps.
