Description
In my proposed design, I created a new wing of the engineering commons. Taking inspiration from Y2E2’s Coupa Cafe, I added a seating/dining area by one of the building’s entrances that offers the choice to sit with or without shade. I also designed this common so that it would connect to the original design, faciliating movement from one building to the other. On the first floor, several spaces such as a printing room and maker space were added, alongside several offices and meeting rooms. On the second floor, a similar layout is followed, emphasizing more offices and meeting rooms. The third floor follows a similar pattern, but emphasizes student spaces to work, with several couches and chairs in a common space for studying.
