Description
In this addition to the engineering building, I came up with two different design options for the exterior and the interior, shifting around the walls and materials inside to create a more open plan vs. a more structured plan, but still with lots of glass so it felt more open. The curtain wall exterior has stone accents around the doors and corners for aesthetic and structural effect. The roof also mirrors that of the original building for cohesion, with a door for access to the third floor from the existing balcony. The third floor is a more open space with just the necessary facilities and I planned for it to be a student designed space where they can put up art installations, their own furniture, or whatever they really want. The other two floors are identical and have different design options, allowing for flexibility in every floor.
